Since I am already missing scorpio season, I decided to shout out a fellow scorpio: Tara Hardy. Tara is the artist and creator of tARTbyTARA. She uses several techniques and different mediums to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind wearable fluid art.
Tara is best known for her healing spoons and necklaces. She uses certain crystals and resin that can help with things like anxiety, depression, or balancing different chakras.

"The Best Thing to Hold onto in Life is Each Other" - Audrey Hepburn

I just turned 26 and I have to say the thing that I am looking forward to most in my next year around the sun is getting married to my best friend!

Many people get stressed about planning a wedding. So far, I am the complete opposite. While there is a lot to do, I find most of it is fun! I am so excited to bring both of our families and all of our friends together for the party of our lifetime.

A little background about Jonathan and I. We met when we were 16. Yes, we are "High School Sweet Hearts" (barf). I hate cheesy things but I have to admit, we are pretty dang adorable. We moved in together shortly after high school and have been together since. We have raised an asshole dog, Phoenix, that we love more than anything. We have literally done EVERYTHING together for the past 9 years and still choose to be around each other as often as possible. It hasn't always been rainbows and butterflies, but we have grown closer and happier together after all these years. Honestly, we feel like we have been married this whole time. We have just decided to have a ceremony to celebrate our love and finally make it official. What better way to do that, than with the people we cherish most?

I am beyond ecstatic to share this moment with others. Please reach out to me if you are planning your own wedding and need advice, ideas, or just need someone to help you remain calm when things get overwhelming. The most important thing to remember is why you are having the ceremony and what it means to you and that special someone in your life.

Steps to the Perfect "Fall Switch Up"

Fall is here! Time to change out your wardrobe.

If you live somewhere like Texas, it has probably just recently started to get cold. I always use this as a good excuse to play with my clothes. It is time for the "Fall Switch Up" where I put away my strictly summer items and get out my fall/winter items.
Unless you live somewhere that has a closet big enough for your entire wardrobe, you probably have at least thought about storing your seasonal clothing. I have a VERY small closet so I store my clothes in a compartment under my bed that my fiancé, Jon, made for me. I get SO excited to get out the clothing that I have seen in over 6 months. (It stays pretty warm here.)

If you are looking to do the same but don't know where to start you can follow my steps below!
1. Laundry - Make sure everything is clean so you don't miss anything.
2. Remove all Spring/Summer items before pulling out fall clothing

Hold on to season neutral clothing

~ What classifies as Spring/Summer? Does it layer well? This usually narrows down the tanks and anything off-the-shoulder. Most tank tops, strapless dresses, etc go well layered underneath a sweater or jacket. I always put away all my off-the-shoulder garments. While I think off-the-shoulder items look great underneath a fur vest on some else, that simply isn't my style.
Would you be cold wearing it? If you live somewhere with weather similar to Texas, then you know we still get those random 80 degree + days. This is where your easy to layer pieces come in. Those are the days you can wear the tank dress without the jacket paired with some chunky heeled boots. I would still put away my off-the-shoulder items and just about anything with a cut-out. Covering up a cut-out with a another layer, completely defeats the purpose. It makes me sad to wear garment where I am the only one who gets to see the special details.
Does it make you think of the beach and nothing else? This goes for your super cropped chiffon blouse that you've never worn with a bra, or those high waisted shorts that you found look best paired with a bikini top.
3. Completely get rid of items that you haven't worn since your last wardrobe switch.

Donate it to your local clothing charity or somewhere like Goodwill and Salvation Army.
If its still it great condition, sell it! My favorite places to sell clothing are Poshmark, Uptown Cheapskate, Plato's Closet, and Buffalo Exchange.

4. Now for the part. Get out all your fall clothes that have been hibernating all summer!

If you are anything like me, your fall wardrobe selection is A LOT larger than your Spring/Summer. Even living somewhere with a really short winter, I can't help but feel more like my self in a long sleeve sweater dress than I would in a strapless sundress.
It is time to get out those knee high boots, the suede dress with leather details, your black velvet skirt, and that comfy sweater that you SWEAR is perfect for any occasion. Speaking of great sweaters, we finally get to wear out CASHMERE!

There may be a few items that you decide to get rid but for the most part you will get the feeling that you just finished a shopping spree without spending any money!!
